C4L – Another year stronger….

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Now that the New Year is fully under way, we took the time to reflect back on the events of the past 12 months, and recap on another successful year.

2011 was a momentous year for us here at C4L, with a wealth of achievements contributing to our overall success throughout the past 12 months. After selling out our highly anticipated Bournemouth data centre, increasing the size of the facility was the logical next step. The expansion of the facility, which is the largest of its kind in the South West, demonstrates our continued effort to invest in the region. For C4L, the South West has provided the perfect environment to push the boundaries of internet infrastructure provisions, and in part the level of our success can be attributed to our location.

In a further success for C4L, we were ranked 52nd in the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, a list of the 100 fastest growing technology companies in the UK. Support for this accolade is evident through our ever-increasing presence in over 40 data centres throughout the UK and Europe, and our continued staff recruitment driving the company forward.

Recognition for this fast developing company did not stop there….over the summer we gained acknowledgement from a large number of industry bodies. Alongside achieving finalist positions for ISPA’s Best Business Customer Service ISP, Best Hosting and Best Dedicated Hosting awards, we also made our third straight appearance in the Deloitte Fast500.

We’re thrilled with C4L’s progress over the last 12 months, and can’t wait for the great things 2012 has in store for us. As well as the expansion of our Bournemouth data centre, we’re hoping to build another C4L owned data centre in West London, which will help us further increase our presence in the capital. This may even incorporate a London office, which would be a great expansion for us and would lead to further investment and recruitment on behalf of the company. Cloud computing and virtualisation are also a large focus for us over the next 12 months, so keep an eye out for other C4L group brand launches throughout the year.

With events celebrating the launch of our Bournemouth data centre phase 2 taking place early in the New Year, and with our presence in data centres across UK and Europe continuing to expand, 2012 promises to be another triumph for C4L.

Bournemouth Data Centre – Phase 2 has begun!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

We’re pleased to share the exciting news that we are now building phase 2 of our Bournemouth data centre! Due to the overwhelming success we’ve experienced since the completion of phase 1, we’re now tripling the site’s capacity.

To celebrate this achievement, we’ve decided to bring to you our top five features of the Bournemouth data centre.

1. Cost effective colocation outside of London

The Bournemouth Data Centre benefits from exemplary levels of latency, due to the fact that it’s operated via C4L’s 100% privately owned network. This means customers can enjoy low latency levels without the expensive London price tag.

2. Premium Tier 2+ specification throughout

The Bournemouth site is built to a premium Tier 2+ specification, solidifying its position as one of the best colocation facilities in the South West.

3.  Dual internet connections to ensure that you stay online 100% of the time

The provision of diverse connectivity as standard ensures that customers are kept online in any situation.

4. A unique biometric security system for your added protection

Our biometric security system provides additional security for your IT equipment, adding fingerprint recognition software to the already stringent security measures in place throughout the facility.

5. 24/7 x 365 onsite security

A further reassurance comes in the form of our 24/7 x 365 onsite security, giving each customer the peace of mind that their IT equipment is completely secure.

To further celebrate the expansion of our Bournemouth data centre, we’re going to be doing a daily blog over the next month, so please keep visiting to check up on our progress!

We’re named a finalist for the “Innovative Technology” Award

Monday, November 29th, 2010

This year we’ve been listed as a finalist for the Dorset Business “Innovative Technology” Award. Over the course of the year we’ve developed several new technologies to ensure we remain at the forefront of our industry. These technologies include our Wireless Internet service, connecting rural Dorset with high speed Internet and improving the speeds enjoyed throughout the county. Our Bournemouth data centre has also been established this year, which is built to Tier 3 specifications and features our highly innovative cold aisle cooling containment.

Last week C4L’s Managing Director, Matt Hawkins attended the Dorset Business “Meet the Finalists” Event, which was a fantastic evening and a great opportunity to get to know the other finalists. The winner for the Innovative Technology Award will be announced at the Dorset Business Gala Dinner which will be held in the Concert Hall at the Lighthouse, on Thursday 9th December. This year’s awards are being hosted by Nicholas Witchell, the BBC’s Royal & Diplomatic correspondent. The team at C4L are looking forward to attending the awards and, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on our blog.
